Biography
Don Armand is a well-known, veteran litigator and mediator who represents clients, tries and mediates cases throughout Louisiana in all areas of civil litigation. Don has extensive experience in large loss, complex cases, fatalities, catastrophic industrial and oilfield accidents, products liability, construction and construction defect. He has particular expertise in insurance coverage litigation and opinions and has served as an expert witness in insurance coverage litigation. Don also represents a Louisiana university in general litigation and Title IX matters.
Don was named Lawyer of the Year in Litigation-Defendants by U.S. News Best Lawyers in America 2023 for the Shreveport area. He has been recognized for years in Best Lawyers in America in Litigation/Defendants and Construction and in Super Lawyers Louisiana.
Don was 2022 President of the Shreveport Bar Association and is founder of the Shreveport Bar Association Trial Academy. He has served on the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel Board of Directors and is a frequent CLE presenter. He previously served on the adjunct faculty of Centenary College as an Instructor in Negotiations for the Executive MBA Program. With other firm partners, Don is a founding member of the Shreveport Red Mass Society.
He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University College of Law in 1986 and a Bachelors of Art in Honors English Literature from LSU Baton Rouge in 1982. Don was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana.
